Product Care and Replacement Parts
WICKER
Quality outdoor wicker is made of either vinyl or man made wicker strands that are painted for appearance. The inner frame structure is usually made of metal for strength. Wicker furniture made of all natural materials could not withstand the outdoors elements.
CLEANING:
Use a vacuum cleaner with the soft bristle attachment to remove dust and dirt from the woven strands. Use a damp sponge with a mild liquid soap to wipe away heavier dirt on the wicker or the frame.
Follow the fabric cleaning care instructions for cleaning the cushions.
MAINTENANCE:
Inspect the woven wicker strands from time to time for wear. Touch-up paint can be used to bring back the color on worn areas. If the wicker begins to unravel, please contact our Service Center for warranty and/or repair assistance.
CUSHIONS AND FABRIC
The fabrics and fibers used on outdoor furniture are quite durable against the harsh elements of being outdoors. But they can not guard against nesting birds, hungry squirrels or falling tree limbs that might pierce the fabric. You may consider storing cushions indoors or using vinyl furniture covers in the winter.
CLEANING:
For basic cleaning, simply hose off dust and dirt.
For thorough cleaning, use a few drops of liquid laundry soap in a bucket of water or a spray bottle. Apply to fabric scrubbing lightly with a soft bristle brush. Hose off to rinse. Let dry in direct sunlight. Stand cushions on edge to allow excess water to run off and out of the inner fibers.
Never machine wash and dry.
MAINTENANCE:
Inspect fabric and stitching from time to time. If you notice any stitches that begin to pull apart, please contact our Service Center for warranty and/or repair assistance.
UMBRELLA
An umbrella serves two purposes when opened. It creates a shaded area for comfort from the sun and it adds atmosphere and ambiance to your patio. We recommend you tie the umbrella closed when not in use or even store it indoors if severe weather is anticipated. An unexpected gust of wind can lift up or tip over an open umbrella consequently damaging it or other property. A wind damaged umbrella might be repairable but is not covered by the warranty.
CLEANING:
For basic cleaning, simply hose off dust and dirt.
For thorough cleaning, add a few drops of liquid laundry soap to a spray bottle filled with water. Spray soapy mixture onto open fabric and frame. Scrub lightly with a soft bristle brush as needed. Hose off to rinse. Let dry open or closed.
Never machine wash and dry fabric.
MAINTENANCE:
Check all moving parts from time to time. Use a silicone spray to lubricate metal joints of the frame. Check fabric for seams that may come unstitched. If you notice broken parts or stitches coming apart, please contact our Service Center for warranty and/or repair assistance.
PAINT AND METAL
Outdoor furniture is made and manufactured just for that, to be outdoors. To endure the harsh elements of the outdoors the furniture goes through the same painting process as your car. The most common effect caused by the outdoor elements on painted metal is oxidation. The sun, along with dust and moisture in the air adhere to surfaces creating a dulled or hazed appearance. Occasional cleanings would prevent oxidation.
CLEANING:
For basic cleaning simply hose off dust and dirt.
For thorough cleaning, apply a few drops of liquid car soap in a bucket of water and scrub the metal frame with a sponge or soft bristle brush. Hose off to rinse. It’s O.K. to wash the sling fabrics with same solution at the same time.
See cushion and fabric care for cleaning cushions separately.
MAINTENANCE:
Inspect the paint finish, bolts and welds from time to time. Touch-up paint scratches on wrought iron furniture immediately. Wrought iron will rust if exposed to moisture. Rust is not covered by any manufacturer warranty. Tighten bolts as needed. If you notice broken welds or paint peeling, please contact our Service Center for warranty and/or repair assistance.
MARBLE AND TILE
Marble and tile table tops are a beautiful choice as an alternative to glass tops. They tend to become the center piece of your patio. The tops are lightly pre-sealed by the manufacturer for showroom display until delivered to your home. The outdoor elements will cause oxidation which can dull its appearance if not re-sealed.
CLEANING:
For basic cleaning simply hose off dust and dirt. For thorough cleaning use a neutral PH cleaner such as Simple Green®. Simple Green® is a water based biodegradable cleaner available at most retailers. Never allow spills to stand on the surface for any extended period of time as it could permanently stain the tiles or grout.
MAINTENANCE:
It is recommended that you re-seal the entire tabletop every 6 to 12 months. Use an all weather sealer specific to your tabletop’s material, especially where the grout may show separation from the tiles. It is common for separation to occur in the grout which is referred to as checking. Checking is not a defect. It is simply caused by heating and cooling effects form the sun. However, if the tiles become loose or fall off, please contact our Service Center for warranty and/or repair assistance.
WOOD AND TEAK
The types of wood selected by the manufacturers are specific and are treated for outdoor use. Wood is always a beautiful and wise selection. With a little extra care and maintenance you can keep it looking like new or you can let it weather naturally for that rich rustic appeal.
CLEANING:
For basic cleaning simply hose off dust and dirt. Use a soft bristles brush for stubborn dirt. Do not use any type of soap on wood. Soap will dry up and trap dust and dirt inside the wood grains. It is best to allow wood to dry in direct sunlight. There are special types of wood cleaning chemicals you can purchase at a local hardware store if you wish to deep clean the wood.
MAINTENANCE:
The manufacturer has already applied some type of oil or stain that needs to cure into the wood in direct sunlight for about 3 weeks. After 3 weeks, you can use a wood sealer to prolong a desired look. Over time when the sealer starts to wear away, you cannot simply apply more sealer. You must remove all of the old sealer with a proper chemical remover. Repeat cleaning, oiling, and staining then re-seal if desired. If you notice any wooden parts beginning to split, please contact our Service Center for warranty and/or repair assistance.
